IFSC Verification

1 endpoint · Core API

IFSC stands for Indian Financial System Code. It is a unique 11-character alphanumeric code used in India to identify individual bank branches participating in electronic funds transfer and other online financial transactions. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) assigns these codes to each bank branch to facilitate secure and efficient electronic money transfers within the country. The IFSC code is essential for various online transactions, including: 1. National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT): Used for transferring money between different bank accounts in India. 2. Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS): Used for high-value fund transfers within India. 3. Immediate Payment Service (IMPS): Used for instant fund transfers 24/7, including weekends and holidays. 4. Electronic Clearing System (ECS): Used for automated recurring payments like utility bills and EMIs (Equated Monthly Installments).

What you can do

Utilize this API to authenticate the existence of a provided IFSC code. The response will display details such as the bank name, branch name, supported transfer modes, and the associated MICR code, providing comprehensive information for verification purposes.

Whether this request was charged: true if it was, false if not. Errors always show false. Flows that finish later (ITR Fetch, SHCIL eStamp, DigiLocker, eSign) show false here, because the charge is made when the result is ready. eSign charges each signer when they complete signing. DigiLocker deducts the credit when the link is created and refunds it automatically if the link expires before the user completes it.
